about
Alan Petitti and Dave Herlihy are no strangers to psychedelia. Both heavily influenced by the sights and sounds of the 60s, Alan and Dave have displayed their admiration for the genre before with O Positive recording remakes of "Walk Away Renée", "I Call Your Name", and "Ruby Tuesday". For his debut album SQUARE ONE (2023), Alan thought it would be far out to tune up and drop in with Dave for this unique spin on The Lemon Piper's "Green Tambourine".
lyrics
Green Tambourine (Leka / Pinz)
Drop your silver in my tambourine
Help a poor man build his pretty dream
Give me pennies, I'll take anything
Now listen while I play
My green tambourine
Watch the jingle jangle start to shine
Reflections of the music that is mine
When you toss a coin, you'll hear it sing
Now listen while I play
My green tambourine
Drop a dime before I walk away
Any song you want, I'll gladly play
Money feeds my music machine
Now listen while I play
My green tambourine
Listen and I'll play
